Jennifer (Timmermeyer) Heckel
Jennifer (Timmermeyer) Heckel graduated from Wichita Heights High School in 2001 and earned her Accounting degree from Wichita State University in the fall of 2008. In 2009, she married Brian Heckel and they moved to Hutchinson, Ks. On June 14th, 2011 Jennifer was tragically shot and killed in her home in Hutchinson, Ks. No arrest have been made to date. At the young age of 27, she leaves behind her husband Brian and 5 year old son Tanner. Tanner will start kindergarten in Hutchinson, Ks this fall. He stays busy year round with many activities. He plays basketball, baseball and takes Tae kwan do classes. In between all of that he likes to swim, help his dad build things in the garage, play with his wiener dog, Poncho, and just be a typical 5 year old boy. Tanner is a bright young child with a great future ahead of him, he is a joy to be around and makes everyone who knows him a better person. He wants to graduate from college just like his mommy, so the proceeds from this year's Field House Classic are going towards a college fund for Tanner. Not only are we going to raise funds for Tanner, but we will raise awareness of this tragic incident in hopes of justice for Jenny.
